Coaching From @jacobbrownacro

Correspondence Private Lessons

Send me a video of the moves you're working on, and I'll send back detailed feedback — in writing or as voice notes.

In Person Private Lessons

I offer private lessons for one student or a small group. With one student, I'll usually base you myself so you get hands-on reps. With two or more, I can focus purely on teaching — which means you leave with more of the material actually locked in.

One student$140/hr
Two students$180/hr
Three students$210/hr
Four students$240/hr

Private Lesson Weekend

Fly into Eugene and I'll pick you up from the airport. You book an Airbnb with enough room and high enough ceilings for us to train in — that's our studio for the weekend. Bring friends along to split the cost.

Weekend Workshops

I teach weekend workshops solo or with a co-teacher. Solo works well for my less advanced material; the more advanced material needs a calibrated partner, so I either bring a co-teacher with me or team up with a local organizer who invites me to their town. In that case, we work out the details by phone, and I fly in a few days early to build material together before the workshop.

It's a good setup all around: I get to travel and teach, the local organizer gets to lead in their own community, and the local acrobats get a workshop they wouldn't otherwise have had.

Workshops run 8–12 hours over the weekend — a 12-hour workshop is four 3-hour sessions, an 8-hour workshop is four 2-hour sessions — and the schedule can be adjusted to fit what you need.

Festivals

Few things beat an acro festival — dozens to hundreds of my friends, all in one place. I teach a handful of classes and take others as a student. If you want me at your festival, I probably want to be there. PM me for availability.

Retreats or Resorts

Jacob at a retreat

I've led several retreats — longer than a weekend, with food, lodging, and a fuller slate of experiences built in. Bring me in and you get the same high-quality instruction as any of my other formats, shaped around your retreat.

Mission Statement

I created jacobbrownacro to bring high-quality acro instruction to people all over the world. My aim is to pass on every positive element acro has to offer — physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual — with an emphasis on grace and fluidity of movement. Doing a move once isn't enough; it has to be mastered through repetition. My goal is to keep branching out: new ways to teach, new places to explore, new communities to share this practice with.

Contact

I got into gymnastics at sixteen and ended up teaching it for ten years. In 2010, a friend introduced me to acro, and I fell for it immediately — I love how every move is a puzzle you work out with your partner. I'm known for making dozens of washing machines and for putting thousands of acro videos online. I became a certified Acro Love Teacher in 2014, and since then my life has been a blur of teaching and traveling the world. I plan to keep doing exactly that for as long as I can.
