The world's largest partner acrobatics resource — thousands of moves from acro practitioners worldwide, arranged alphabetically and as best-of lists so they're easy to find. Browse acro videos, lessons, an events calendar, and more.
The top row is the whole site: Moves Menu, Booking and Coaching, Lessons, Events, Photoshoots, Links and About. Moves Menu shows or hides the row of moves under it (Washing Machines, Dance Lifts, Pops, Whips, Icarian, Standing, Partner Flow, Surprise Me, New and Needed). Tap any chip to open it (it turns black); tap it again to close it (it turns white). The home page opens on the washing machines: Washing Machines › #-Z › #, with that list under the menu. Every list has its own address (for example /machines-m for the M washing machines), so you can bookmark or share any list. The search box searches every move name on the site. Names you have already watched are ticked; that memory lives in your browser only.
Tap a move name to play its video in place. Videos that Instagram will not embed open on Instagram instead.
Under Washing Machines: the #-Z letter lists, the Best lists, the Group machines (1 base 2 flyers, 2 base 1 flyer, 2 base 2 flyers, misc, and Group Supine — conveyer belts, rolls and boxes where the bases lie on the ground), Symmetrical, OG Machines, Tick Tocks and Random Washing Machine. Every list is alphabetical by name, and between them they hold every washing machine on the site. A symmetrical washing machine mirrors the same flow on both sides. Each list includes moves from Jacob and acro practitioners worldwide. Where more than one version of the same move exists, the oldest is linked to credit the original creators.
Random Washing Machine picks one machine at random and plays it. Tap "Another one" for the next.
Surprise Me picks a move at random from every list on the site, not only the washing machines.
Every move added to this site in the last 90 days — washing machines, dance lifts, icarian and whips, standing and more — grouped by type and alphabetical within each. "Added" means when it went on the site, not when the video was posted. Each name plays its video. Moves fall off this list on their own once they are older than 90 days.
These are moves I know I don't have. The site is missing far more than the ones listed there, so if you know a move that isn't here, please send it to me: email me a link, or tag me or send me a message on Instagram. The Needed page says how.
Calendar is the Acro Insiders public events feed. Jacob's Current Events are the festivals and workshops I am teaching at or attending next. Jacob's Past Events is everything that was on my Google Calendar — not exhaustive.
There are hundreds of washing machines out there and sorting through them can be time consuming so try out these machines picked by professional curators. Washing machines are made by at least two and sometimes more people. When you post a move it is good manners to give credit to all people involved. You can usually find the whole story by reading the text included with the post.
It's a whole new world of washing machines when you start adding more people. Almost any machine can be made into a group machine with a little imagination.
Group Supine: Group moves where the bases are mostly lying on the ground — conveyer belts, rolls and boxes where flyers travel from base to base.
Think "Classic Arcade Games" of washing machines. They are oldschool but that doesn't mean easy.
These are moves which move back and forth rather than in a circle.
Dance lifts are difficult to categorize. There is not a tradition of naming dance lifts like there is with washing machines. I describe them rather than give them names, like "The hand stand on knee one". With dance lifts the base lifts the whole weight of the flyer but the moves are generally easier than standing.

Dance Inspiration: These are some inspirational acro videos
Welcome to the Icarian and Whips section. They are together because many moves are whips and pops at the same time. The first sections are best-of lists compiled by well known acrobats. Below that is a list of Icarian & whips moves organized by from where the move starts.

Icarian Inspiration: Our favorite Icarian videos from the web
Standing moves usually involve lifting a flyer and holding a pose in a static position. These tend to be harder than other acrobatics poses because the base has to hold the full weight of the flyer.
Group Standing: Standing moves for three or more people.
Acro that moves: supine and l-base sequences, counterbalances, reciprocals, flows, rolling sequences and kaleidoscope. Standing, washing machines, dance lifts and icarian each have their own page.
Supine: Moves where the base is mostly lying on the ground (the flyer may stand, roll or jump over them).
Counterbalances: Two people leaning away from each other so that neither could hold the shape alone.
Reciprocals: These are moves, usually done with two standing people, who lean back and forth to pick each other up in various ways. I got a lot of these from Ezra Lebank.
Flows: Flows are long arrangements of moves which do not necessarily repeat.
Rolling Sequences/Ralphs: Debbie and I decided to make a name for a type of acro we like. Rolling sequences include a lot of catherines wheels, F2H, H2H, shoulder stands, sometimes whips and pops. They stay in a vertical plane, often moving from l-base to standing and back. People ask me why I call them Ralphs. It is because I am constantly naming things and trying to come up with names which somehow signify the move. I got tired of all this contrived meaning one day so I made a completely random name.
Kaleidoscope Acro: Kaleidoscope acro videos. The same videos are also on a YouTube playlist.
Lately I share my lessons on Instagram. They are free, but please consider making a donation. Here is my Venmo, Paypal, and Wise.
These lessons were made with Debbie Collis between 2015 and 2022. On IG @debbiecollis. On the Web www.debbielegs.com
Free Lessons: These lessons are free for two reasons: One, to whet your appetite and make you want to see the other lessons; And 2, to raise the skill level of acrobats all over the world. These are free because they are so fundamental to the practice. If everyone did these lessons then I could teach everything which is past these skills.
Acro Music Videos: Jacob's acro music videos, newest first. A video YouTube won't play here opens on YouTube.
